Santa Barbara Styled Wedding at The Mission
I always love doing styled shoots, I love how much time and creative freedom they allow. So when my makeup artist, Page, told me that the Mission’s reception venue Serra Hall was in desperate need of a styled shoot to revamp it’s image and help it break into the wedding world, I jumped at the chance. I got one of the best wedding planners in town, Percy Sales, on board and we made grand plans for an epic styled shoot. But as can happen with a real wedding, things changed and our plans got significantly downgraded. We ended up with a simple, elegant shoot, that I love just as much as if we’d had more props and details. As always, with my shoots I chose to go with a real couple instead of models because authentic interaction is more important to me than anything. I was so happy with the couple we chose. They have been married for 10 years and have four young kids. They met on a mission trip in Spain and have been madly in love ever since. When they were married they couldn’t afford a wedding photographer and had a relative do it, so these photos were extra special to them especially so close to their 10 year anniversary.
